After successfully restructuring the Group, Rudi Ludwig (62), CEO of SAF-HOLLAND Group GmbH, is stepping down from his operating activities as Chairman of the Management Board at his own request as of June 30, 2011. Detlef Borghardt (48) will follow as his successor as CEO effective on July 1, 2011.

SAF-HOLLAND has announced the release of the NEWAY® ADZ Series Drive Axle Air-Ride Suspension for vocational trucks and tractors. The new ADZ Series has been engineered for vocational applications including construction, mixers, logging, mining, oilfield, refuse, fire apparatus, and heavy-haul. The ADZ, which is approved for 100% off-road duty cycles, is a non-torque reactive suspension with a parallelogram trailing arm design. The suspension is offered in 23,000 and 26,000 lb. capacities and is engineered for independent single suspension mounting that allows for single, tandem or tridem axle truck or tractor applications.

SAF-HOLLAND S.A. has appointed Alexander Geis as President of its Aftermarket Business Unit. In addition to his role as President of the Aftermarket Business Unit, Geis will also serve as a deputy member of SAF-HOLLAND’s Management Board. Geis will also continue to serve in his current position as Vice President for Aftermarket Sales and Marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

SAF-HOLLAND S.A. is reinforcing its sales potential in the spare parts business. SAF-HOLLAND, a leading worldwide manufacturer and supplier of premium product systems and components for commercial vehicles (trucks and trailers), is joining forces with the Volvo Truck Corporation in the aftermarket business. As part of this cooperation, Volvo Truck Corporation has started to include SAF-HOLLAND spare parts in its European Truck Shop product range and thus supply service centers across Europe. SAF-HOLLAND spare parts are currently available at service centers in Europe, America, Asia, Africa and Australia.

SAF-HOLLAND has announced that its North American facilities aligned to its Powered Vehicle Systems Business Unit have been recommended for ISO/TS16949 certification by Det Norske Veritas Certification, Inc. (DNV). ISO/TS16949 is globally recognized as the quality automotive standard, superseding previous European and QS-9000 standards.

SAF-HOLLAND has announced that it will be moving fifth wheel manufacturing operations from its Monroe, North Carolina plant to its Wylie, Texas facility. The Wylie facility machines and assembles fifth wheels for the company and provides enough unutilized capacity to absorb all of the Monroe plant’s current volume.
